Record number apply for SSC answer script re-scrutiny

More than 300,000 students have applied for re-scrutiny of their SSC and equivalent examination answer scripts within five days, a record in recent years, according to education officials.

Applications opened on August 11 and will remain open until Monday (August 17).

Officials of the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and Dhaka Education Board confirmed the figure on Saturday afternoon.

This year’s SSC and equivalent examinations recorded an average pass rate of 62.25%, with more than 690,000 students failing, according to the report. The high failure rate has prompted a large number of students, particularly those who failed or did not achieve their expected grades, to seek re-scrutiny.

Students can apply online for re-scrutiny after the publication of their results. The relevant education boards will review the answer scripts and publish the revised results after the application period ends.
