RAJBARI, Aug 16: Authorities in the district discussed improving health care and education, waste management, dengue prevention, road safety and social welfare at a meeting on Sunday.
The meeting, chaired by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Afroza Parveen at the DC’s office, also emphasised development of the district’s char areas.
Officials discussed poor examination results at two schools and a madrasa and called for coordinated efforts by teachers, guardians and education authorities to identify the causes and improve academic performance.
The meeting also discussed a proposal to convert Rajbari District Sadar Hospital into a medical college hospital. Participants sought the cooperation of State Minister for Culture Ali Newaz Mahmud Khayyam to implement the initiative.
The DC called for coordinated action to address the district's problems. She urged officials to identify dangerous bends on the Rajbari-Kushtia regional road and take measures to reduce accidents.
