The tribunal is set to deliver its verdict any day in the case filed over July crimes against humanity against seven senior leaders of the Awami League, Jubo League and Chhatra League, including banned Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader.
The three-member Tribunal-2, headed by Justice Nazrul Islam Chowdhury, reserved the case for verdict on Monday after both sides concluded their arguments.
Prosecutor Gazi MH Tamim sought the death penalty for the accused and confiscation of their properties.
Two state-appointed defence lawyers, Hasan Imam and Israt Jahan Oni, represented the seven fugitive accused and sought their acquittal.
The other accused are banned Awami League Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim; former state minister for information Mohammad Ali Arafat; Jubo League President Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash and General Secretary Mainul Hossain Khan Nikhil; and banned Chhatra League President Saddam Hossain and General Secretary Sheikh Wali Asif Enan.
