A mobile court fined two diagnostic centres a total of Tk 60,000 for violating the Consumer Rights Protection Act in Phulbari Upazila of Dinajpur.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Executive Magistrate Ahmed Hasan conducted the drive on Thursday (August 20).
During the operation, the mobile court fined One One Diagnostic Centre Tk 40,000 and Modern Diagnostic Centre Tk 20,000 in the municipality area.
Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Mashiur Rahman and personnel from Phulbari Police Station were present during the drive.
Executive Magistrate Ahmed Hasan stated that the diagnostic centres failed to properly comply with consumer rights regulations. He noted that alongside the fines, the establishments received warnings. He added that such monitoring drives will continue regularly.
