At least 30 people, including police personnel and madrasa students, were injured in a clash over the use of loud music in Brahmanbaria Police Lines on Tuesday (August 19) night.
According to the reports, the clash took place around 11:00 PM in a program arranged by district police department to welcome Chattogram range DIG Abdul Quddus Chowdhury.
Students from nearby Darul Arkam Al-Islamia Madrasa reportedly demanded the police to reduce the volume of music since they had exams on Wednesday (August 20). An argument took place between them whereupon more than 100 students allegedly entered the Police Lines and caused damage to the program.
Students were beaten with batons by police and 20 were injured in the process. Ten police personnel were also injured. Later, a meeting was held between police and madrasa authorities to bring normalcy in the situation.
