Four killed as oil tanker hits CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Sylhet

Four people were killed and three others injured in a head-on collision between an oil tanker and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Osmani Nagar of Sylhet on Saturday.

The accident occurred around 2:00 PM in the Brahmangram area on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway.

Police said the auto-rickshaw was travelling from Sherpur towards Sylhet when it collided head-on with an oil tanker coming from the opposite direction.

The auto-rickshaw was badly damaged in the collision. Locals rescued the driver and six passengers in critical condition and took them to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.

Doctors declared four of them dead after their arrival. The three injured people are undergoing treatment at the hospital.

The identities of the deceased could not be confirmed immediately.
