2 arrested over youth’s murder in Khulna

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-6) members arrested two accused in the youth Manjurul murder case from Gopalganj on Sunday.

The arrestees were identified as Md Farooq and Masudul Islam Kadar.

A team of RAB-6 conducted a drive at Borni Dakkhinpara under Tungipara Upazila in Gopalganj district and arrested the duo using modern technology.

According to a RAB press release, miscreants hacked and shot a youth named Manjurul to death at a sand field in Harintana area under Labanchara Police Station on the evening of August 19.

Later, around 9:45 PM on the same night, police recovered the bloody body of another youth, Nazmul, from the Shishubagan Ashibigha area.

RAB said the second murder was committed as a retaliation for the first killing.

The miscreants fled the area immediately after committing the crimes. Two separate cases were filed with the police station concerned in connection with the two incidents.

The arrested persons were handed over to Labanchara Police Station for further legal action.

RAB drives are continuing to arrest the remaining suspects, the press release added.
