A joint funeral prayer for seven migrant workers from Atrai, Naogaon, who were killed in a blaze in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, was offered on Friday (August 28).

The funeral prayers took place at 10 AM at Molla Azad Memorial Government College grounds, in the presence of local MP Sheikh Mohammad Rezaul Islam, Deputy Commissioner of Naogaon Mohammad Saiful Islam, local government officials, and many others.

The bodies reached Atrai police station at about 1:30 AM on Friday after arriving at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 4:05 PM Thursday aboard a flight BG-430 of Biman Bangladesh Airlines.

According to UNO Md Moniruzzaman, the bodies were handed over to the concerned family members after the funeral prayers. Efforts are being made to bring the other four deceased bodies home.

They were among eleven migrant workers from Atrai killed in a blaze in a sofa manufacturing unit in Riyadh on August 9. The identities of the victims were established after fingerprint test prior to sending them back home.
