Body-carrying ambulance, cargo collision leaves 7 injured in Natore

The accident occurred around 10:30AM on the Bonpara-Hatikumrul highway in the Talbaria area of Dharabarisha union.

Police and local residents said the ambulance was travelling from Gazipur to Natore carrying the body when it collided with a cargo truck coming from the opposite direction. All seven passengers travelling in the ambulance were injured in the crash.

Local residents rescued the injured and took them to Gurudaspur Upazila Health Complex. After receiving initial treatment, three of the injured, whose conditions were described as critical, were referred to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.

Bonpara Highway Police Station OC Moniruzzaman said that the ambulance already had a body inside at the time of the accident. Family members were transporting the body from Gazipur.
