BGB chief meets President 

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Director General Maj Gen Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui has met with President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.

The meeting took place at Bangabhaban, the president’s official residence, on Monday afternoon.

A media statement from the Bangabhaban Press Wing said President Fakhrul praised the border force’s work in the important task of protecting the border and urged it to take more effective measures to stop smuggling, drug trafficking, push-ins and border killings.

The BGB director general extended heartfelt congratulations to the president on his election and informed him about the BGB’s overall activities and its initiative to introduce state-of-the-art drones and modern technology to increase surveillance at the border.

The president said that the BGB plays an important role in remaining vigilant in stopping smuggling, drugs and human trafficking at the border.�"bdnews
