Fire breaks out at Khulna hotel

A fire broke out at Hotel Tiger Garden in Khulna on Saturday morning, with two Fire Service units bringing it under control within about 40 minutes.

The fire broke out in a room on the southern side of the hotel’s fifth floor around 9:05am, according to police and local residents. Police informed the Fire Service after arriving at the scene.

Two units from Boyra Fire Station reached the hotel and brought the fire under control around 9:45am.

Sonadanga Police Station SI Amzad said no one was injured in the incident. A bag belonging to the person who had rented the room was burnt, but no other major damage was reported.

Khulna Fire Service Deputy Director Masud Sardar said they received the information around 9:10am.

He said the fire is suspected to have originated from the indoor unit of the room’s air conditioner. No casualties were reported.
