305 arrested in anti-drug operations in Chittagong

305 people have been arrested in the Chittagong range in the last 24 hours in special anti-drug operations and regular cases.

Chittagong range DIG Abdul Kuddus Chowdhury confirmed the matter on Saturday.

The seized drugs include 21 kg 912 grams of cannabis, 82,860 pieces of Yaba tablets, 500 liters of liquor, and 761 bottles of Scoff syrup.

Among the accused arrested across the district on Friday, 73 were arrested in drug cases, 77 people were arrested in regular cases, 12 under Section 34 of the Police Act, five under Section 54 of the Criminal Procedure Code, 117 under warrants and 21 under sentence warrants. Of them, 35 are drug dealers and 38 are drug addicts.

He also said that 33 people have been sentenced to various terms of imprisonment through mobile courts in the anti-drug drive. At the same time, a fine of Tk 9,150 was collected. A total of 28 drug cases have been filed in the drive.
