Three people were killed and at least 30 others injured when a passenger bus plunged into a roadside ditch in Muksudpur upazila of Gopalganj on Sunday (September 4).

The fatal crash occurred at around 10:45 AM near Gerakhola Bridge along the Dhaka-Khulna highway.
Police sources said a Dhaka-bound 'Tungipara Express' bus from Khulna lost control at Gerakhola and veered off the highway into a deep ditch beside the bridge. The vehicle was heavily damaged, leaving three passengers dead on the spot.

On receiving information, police and fire service personnel launched a rescue operation at the scene. Rescuers rushed the injured to Muksudpur Upazila Health Complex, where 12 people were admitted in critical condition.

Authorities have not yet identified the deceased victims. Police fear the casualty figure could rise further.

Bhanga Highway Police Station Sergeant Md Azadur Rahman confirmed the incident, stating that emergency responders quickly transported the injured to the health complex following the fatal crash.
