England Crush Pakistan to Complete 3-0 Whitewash

England completed a 3-0 Test series whitewash over Pakistan after beating the visitors by eight wickets in the third and final Test at Edgbaston on Saturday (September 12).

Chasing a modest 130-run target, England reached 130 for two, with Joe Root unbeaten on 62 and Jordan Cox on 59. The pair calmly guided the hosts to victory after Pakistan made an early breakthrough by dismissing Ben Duckett and Emilio Gay.

England had earlier taken firm control of the match by bowling Pakistan out for just 133 in their first innings before piling up 453, securing a massive 320-run lead.

Pakistan showed far greater resistance in their second innings, making 449. Shan Masood top-scored with 95, while Babar Azam made 76 and Azan Awais scored 59.

The highlight of Pakistan's fightback was Test debutant Razaullah, who smashed a spectacular 81 off 63 balls, including nine sixes, in a 121-run partnership with Mohammad Abbas, who scored 42. Their late resistance helped Pakistan set England a target of 130.

However, England remained composed in the chase and wrapped up the match before lunch on the fourth day to complete a dominant series sweep.

England had won the opening Test by an innings and 103 runs and the second by 194 runs.
