Madrid thrashes Rayo Vallecano with Mbappé record

Kylian Mbappé delivered a standout performance, scoring twice to bring his tally to six La Liga goals and seven across all competitions this season.

The 27-year-old French forward became the first player since 2016 to record both a goal and an assist within the opening 17 minutes of a match at the Bernabéu.

José Mourinho's side asserted control early, opening the scoring in the 13th minute after Álvaro Carreras drew a foul inside the penalty area. Mbappé converted the resulting spot-kick before setting up Carreras three minutes later to double the lead.

Jude Bellingham added a third in the 35th minute, finishing on his first touch following a pass from Vinícius Júnior.

Mbappé struck the post late in the first half as Real Madrid took a commanding three-goal advantage into the break.

Rayo Vallecano pulled a goal back in the 51st minute through Sergio Camello following a defensive error. Visitor pressure tested Thibaut Courtois on multiple occasions during the second half before substitute Arda Güler set up Mbappé in stoppage time to seal the 4-1 result with a low finish into the bottom corner.
