SSF detains journalist at PM’s meeting

The Special Security Force (SSF) detained a journalist on Sunday for allegedly trying to enter a meeting of the prime minister at the Ministry of Agriculture without authorisation.

The detainee was identified as Nizam ul Haque, a senior staff reporter of Daily Present Times. The incident took place around 3:40pm.

According to sources, Haque attempted to enter the meeting venue despite his name not being on the authorised list.

SSF personnel detained him and later handed him over to the Secretariat Security Police.

Shahbagh Police Station OC Md Moniruzzaman said police had been informed and an officer was sent to the Secretariat.

Haque would be taken to the police station for questioning, he added.
