Eight more people died with measles symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of deaths this year to 1,030, including 100 confirmed measles deaths and 930 deaths involving measles symptoms.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the figures in its regular health bulletin on Monday. According to the bulletin, four people died in Dhaka and another four in Sylhet with measles symptoms in the 24 hours from 8am Sunday.
During the same period, 1,232 new patients with measles symptoms were admitted to hospitals across the country. Of them, 524 were admitted in Dhaka division, 23 in Rajshahi, 150 in Sylhet, 278 in Chattogram, 131 in Barishal, 57 in Mymensingh, 88 in Khulna and 26 in Rangpur.
