60 judges transferred, posted across country

The government has transferred and posted 60 judges to different courts and judicial offices across the country.

The Law and Justice Division of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs issued separate notifications in this regard on Thursday (September 17).

Of them, 40 district judges and judges of equivalent rank have been transferred and posted to different positions, including the Judicial Administration Training Institute in Dhaka, Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunals, Child Violence Prevention Tribunals, District and Sessions Judge Courts and other courts in different districts.

The notification, signed by Deputy Secretary (Administration-1) Masum Billah, said the transfers and postings were made in consultation with the Bangladesh Supreme Court.

According to the notification, the concerned members of the Bangladesh Judicial Service have been transferred from their present workplaces and posted to the positions and workplaces mentioned against their names until further orders.

The transferred judges have been asked to hand over charge of their current posts to the concerned District and Sessions Judge or, where applicable, an officer nominated by the head of the office, and join their new workplaces immediately.
