Hearing-impaired man killed by train in Biral

A 60-year-old hearing-impaired man was killed after being run over by a train while sitting on a railway track in Biral upazila of Dinajpur on Friday.

The accident occurred around 11:00 AM in the Dippাড়া area of Dhamoir Union-3.

The deceased was identified as Jamal, son of late Kasir Mohammad of Dhamoir village in the union.

Local residents said Jamal could not hear and might not have been able to move away from the track after failing to hear the approaching train or its whistle.

Government Railway Police (GRP) said Jamal was sitting on the railway track in the Dippাড়া area in the morning. He was run over by a passenger train travelling from Panchagarh to Rajshahi and died on the spot.
