Six more die with measles symptoms

Six more people died with measles symptoms across the country in the 24 hours to 8:00 AM on Monday, while 1,221 suspected cases were reported, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

During the period, 84 people were confirmed to have measles, the DGHS said in its regular measles report issued on Monday.

The six latest deaths were classified as suspected measles deaths. With these, the total number of suspected measles deaths since March 15 has reached 962, while confirmed measles deaths remain at 101.

Since March 15, the country has reported 181,035 suspected measles cases and 20,646 confirmed cases.

A total of 158,589 suspected measles patients have been admitted to hospitals since March 15, with 152,225 discharged after treatment.
