NU set for 2nd Convocation after nearly one decade

National University is set to hold its second convocation on January 23, 2027, nearly a decade after its first convocation.

President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, who is the chancellor of the National University, has given his consent to attend the ceremony, university authorities said.

The decision came after Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr ASM Amanullah paid a courtesy visit to the president and formally invited him to attend the convocation as chancellor. The president accepted the invitation and provided necessary directions for organising the event smoothly.

Following the confirmation, the university has begun preparations for the long-awaited ceremony. A convocation management committee and several sub-committees have also been formed to oversee the arrangements.

The National University, established in 1992, is affiliated with around 2,500 colleges across the country. Its first convocation was held on January 17, 2017, 25 years after its establishment.
