Zayed Khan steps forward to support ailing Rifat Chowdhury

Film actor Zayed Khan has come forward to support actor and poet Rifat Chowdhury, who is currently undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Rifat is receiving treatment at Medicine Unit-3 in the hospital’s new building. He has been suffering from various physical complications for a long time, while the cost of his treatment has also become difficult for him to bear.
Following news of his illness, several colleagues from the entertainment industry have stepped forward to support him. Representatives of the Actors' Equity (Obhinoy Shilpi Sangha) have already visited him at the hospital and provided financial assistance.
Earlier, actor Chanchal Chowdhury also appealed for support for Rifat’s treatment, saying he and their organisations would provide whatever assistance was necessary.
Zayed Khan has now joined the initiative and extended financial assistance to help with Rifat’s medical expenses.
“Rifat bhai is a senior artist among us. It is our responsibility to stand by him at this time. I believe that having colleagues by one’s side during a crisis boosts an artist’s morale significantly. I have tried to support him to the best of my ability, and I hope others will also come forward,” Zayed said.
Various organisations and artists have already extended support to Rifat. However, those involved said further assistance is needed to ensure that his treatment continues properly.
