Macklemore announces ‘Free Palestine’ concert series

US rapper Macklemore has announced a special concert series across Europe titled “Free Palestine”, weeks after he was dropped from Ed Sheeran’s “Loop Tour” following his public support for Palestinians.
Macklemore announced the three-concert tour in an Instagram post, sharing a poster featuring messages of solidarity with Palestinians and calls for peace.
According to the schedule, the concerts will be held in Dublin on October 26, Paris on October 29 and London on October 30.
The poster also states that all proceeds from the concerts will be donated to organisations working to support Palestine and defend the rights of Palestinians.
Macklemore had previously joined Ed Sheeran as a supporting act on his tour. During a solo performance, he expressed solidarity with Palestinians affected by the ongoing conflict and described the situation as a “genocide”, while chanting “Free Palestine”.
He was subsequently removed from the tour, a decision that sparked debate and criticism internationally.
Several artists also reportedly showed solidarity with Macklemore by boycotting Sheeran’s concerts.
As speculation grew on social media, Sheeran addressed the issue publicly, saying the decision to remove Macklemore was made by the organisers and was not his own.
