BNP leadership failing to tackle crises: Islami Andolan leader

Islami Andolan Bangladesh Senior Naib-e-Ameer Mufti Syed Muhammad Faizul Karim, also known as Shaykh-e-Chormonai has said the BNP-led government has completed six months in office but has failed to show success in any area of state governance.

“Rather, the situation has worsened in almost every sector. The energy crisis has intensified, power problems have reached an alarming level, and rising prices have made people suffer,” he said.

He also alleged that the scale and spread of terrorism and extortion had increased, while people were becoming frustrated with violence, infighting and muscle power among BNP leaders and activists.

“Considering the overall situation, questions have arisen about the BNP leadership’s capability and efficiency in running both the government and the party,” he said.

Faizul Karim made the remarks as the chief guest at a thana-level representatives’ conference of Islami Andolan Bangladesh’s Mymensingh, Faridpur and Dhaka divisions at Saidnagar under Vatara Police Station in Dhaka on Saturday.

The party’s Secretary General Maulana Gazi Ataur Rahman addressed the conference as a special guest.

He said Islami Andolan would contest the upcoming local government elections with full strength. He instructed party activists to prepare for the elections by focusing on Shariah, integrity and competence.

The conference was chaired by Maulana Ariful Islam, the party’s Dhaka divisional organising secretary. Senior central leaders also provided directives at the event.
