Daughter feeds bread to father tied to pole over theft allegation

A heartbreaking photo and video of a young girl feeding tea and bread to her father, who was tied to a pole over an alleged theft attempt, has gone viral on social media.
The incident took place at Bamrail Bazar in Wazirpur upazila of Barishal. Local businessmen detained Anik Sardar late Friday night over an alleged theft attempt and tied him to a pole.
His young daughter came to the market the next morning and, seeing her hungry father, used her savings to buy tea and bread and fed him with her own hands. The emotional moment was recorded and later spread widely online.
Anik was released around 9 AM Saturday after local businessmen took a written undertaking from his family and handed him over to his guardians.
Police said they sent a team after learning about the detention, but he had already been released. No case has been filed over the incident.
