PM reaches Feni

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has reached Feni for a daylong visit.

The prime minister left his Gulshan residence by road on Thursday morning and travelled through Narayanganj and Cumilla, where large crowds gathered on the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway to welcome him.

He reached the Ghatghar area near the Muhuri Bridge in Parshuram upazila at around 12:30PM, as scheduled. 

His visit has sparked widespread enthusiasm across Feni, with BNP supporters and local residents gathering at various points along his route. During the daylong visit, the prime minister is scheduled to attend several programmes:

Muhuri-Kahua project: After reaching in Parshuram, the Prime Minister is scheduled to inaugurate the first-phase rehabilitation of the Tk1,542.16 crore Muhuri-Kahua Flood Control, Drainage and Irrigation Project. 

Tree plantation: At 1:30PM, he is scheduled to join a tree-planting programme at Begum Khaleda Zia Women’s College in Fulgazi.

Solar power to national grid: At 2PM, he will inaugurate the supply of electricity to the national grid from rooftop solar systems installed on government buildings at the Fulgazi District Council Dak Bungalow.

Cards and allowances: At 3:30PM, he will attend a public rally at Fulgazi Government Pilot High School ground, where he is scheduled to distribute Family Cards and Farmer Cards and hand over honorariums to imams, muezzins and other religious service providers.

The Prime Minister is scheduled to return to Dhaka this evening after completing the programmes.
