
Rain is likely in many parts of Sylhet and Chattogram divisions, while day and night temperatures across the country may remain largely unchanged over the next 24 hours, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.
The forecast, valid from 6:00 PM Friday to 6:00 PM Saturday, was issued by Meteorologist Dr Md Abul Kalam Mallik.
The Met Office said light to moderate rain or thundershowers, accompanied by temporary gusty winds, may occur at some places in Mymensingh and Barishal divisions and at one or two places in Rangpur, Dhaka and Khulna divisions.
Elsewhere, the weather may remain mainly dry with temporarily partly cloudy skies.
The extended axis of the monsoon runs through Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, the southern parts of Bangladesh and Assam. The monsoon is less active over Bangladesh and remains weak to moderate over the North Bay.
For the second day, from 6:00 PM Saturday to 6:00 PM Sunday, light to moderate rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty winds may occur at some places in Rangpur, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places in Dhaka, Mymensingh and Khulna divisions.
Elsewhere, the weather may remain mainly dry with temporarily partly cloudy skies. Day and night temperatures across the country may remain nearly unchanged.
In the past 24 hours, the highest rainfall of 51mm was recorded in Srimangal.
During the same period, the highest temperature of 35.4°C was recorded in Tangail and Jashore, while the lowest temperature of 22.3°C was recorded in Sylhet.
