The National Productivity Day was observed in districts, including Rajbari and Rajarhat Upazila of Kurigram, on Friday in a befitting manner and with the theme “Combining Innovation, Technology and Skills to Increase Productivity”.

RAJBARI: On the occasion, a discussion was held at 11 am at the district administration conference room, chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Tarif Ul Hasan while Deputy Commissioner (DC) Afroza Parvin attended as chief guest.

Speakers stressed the need to boost productivity through efficient use of resources, modern technology, skilled manpower and better management. DC Afroza Parvin urged industrial units to install solar panels to help address power shortages and increase production.

BCSIC Rajbari Industrial Estate Assistant General Manager Chayan Biswas said its factories employ about 1,150 people annually and produce goods worth around Tk 280 crore a year. He said some problems at the industrial estate would be addressed soon and called for cooperation from factory owners. Around 45 industrial entrepreneurs and media representatives attended the event.

RAJARHAT, KURIGRAM: On the occasion, the Rajarhat Upazila Administration started a rally from the Upazila Parishad premises at 10 am that toured nearby roads before returning to the starting point.

A discussion meeting was later held at the Upazila Parishad conference room, chaired by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Tanzila Tasnim. Speakers included Academic Supervisor of Upazila Secondary Education Office Ayesha Siddika, Member Secretary of the Upazila BNP Shahidul Islam and government officials.

Speakers said improving productivity requires more than increasing output. They stressed the importance of quality, efficiency, effective use of time and reducing waste.

They also emphasised that every citizen has a responsibility to contribute to national development. They said making effective use of people’s experience, skills and capabilities could boost productivity and accelerate broader social and national development.
