Four more children have died of measles and measles-like symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of deaths from measles and its symptoms to 1,114 since March 15.
Of the latest deaths, one child died of confirmed measles while three died of measles-like symptoms, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) control room on Friday (October 2).
The DGHS said 1,221 suspected measles cases were reported in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of suspected cases to 194,084 between March 15 and October 1.
Twenty-one confirmed measles cases were reported in the past 24 hours, while the total number of confirmed cases since March 15 reached 21,623.
During the period, 172,021 people with suspected measles were admitted to hospitals, while 166,933 recovered and were discharged, the DGHS said.
