Star Trek: The Original Series will mark its 60th anniversary with a new novel, Echoes in Eternity, scheduled for release on October 27, 2026.
Written by veteran Star Trek author David Mack, the 368-page novel follows three seemingly separate stories unfolding over 27 years. The characters’ lives eventually intersect around KX-1, a mysterious planet located between two black holes.
The planet can only be reached during limited windows created by its unusual orbit and extreme gravitational forces. The story follows three missions to KX-1, while tensions and mistrust among the central characters grow as they attempt to uncover the planet’s secret.
Mack has extensive experience writing in the Star Trek universe, including the Star Trek: Vanguard series and the 2022 novel Harm's Way, which also features Captain Kirk and the Klingons. He has written 40 novels and received the Faust Award from the International Association of Media Tie-In Writers in 2022.
Echoes in Eternity will be released in hardcover and ebook on October 27, along with an unabridged audiobook narrated by Robert Petkoff.
