RANGAMATI, Oct 3: Rangamati is facing a shortage of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), with supply falling short of demand and forcing CNG- and LPG-powered vehicle drivers to wait in long lines at filling stations.
Long queues were seen at Hill View Filling Station in Banarupa, Rangamati town, from Saturday morning. Drivers said they often have to visit multiple stations without finding enough gas and remain uncertain about when supplies will return to normal.
Drivers said the shortage is costing them hours of work and affecting passenger services and daily earnings.
“We have to wait in line for a long time for gas, with no certainty about when we will get it,” one CNG driver said. “This reduces the time we can spend driving and affects our income.”
Filling station operators said they cannot meet demand because supplies remain inadequate. They expressed hope that the situation will improve once deliveries increase.
Drivers have called for the shortage to be resolved quickly, saying regular supplies would reduce long queues and disruptions and help restore normal traffic in Rangamati town.
