DU’s 54th convocation in Jan

The 54th convocation of the University of Dhaka (DU) will be held on January 26, 2027, with Chancellor Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir agreeing to attend the ceremony.

DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr A B M Obaidul Islam invited the Chancellor to the convocation during a meeting with him on Sunday (October 4), according to the university’s Public Relations Office.

The President accepted the invitation and agreed to attend the ceremony as Chancellor. He is expected to preside over the convocation.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has already agreed to attend the event as the guest of honour, the release said.

During the meeting, President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said DU was not only the country’s leading educational institution but also a centre of its politics, history, heritage and culture.
