A Bangladeshi student, Tasnim Oishi, was killed in a road accident in Perth, Australia, on Thursday morning, the Bangladesh High Commission in Canberra confirmed.
The accident occurred at around 7:45AM local time on October 8 in the Indian Ocean Drive area of Perth. Oishi was studying at Edith Cowan University.
According to Australian media outlet Seven News, Oishi was sitting in the front passenger seat of a speeding grey BMW sedan when the driver lost control and the car crashed into a roadside tree. The three other occupants of the vehicle survived.
In a Facebook post on Friday, the Bangladesh High Commission expressed deep sorrow over Oishi's sudden and untimely death and conveyed its heartfelt condolences to her bereaved family.
