Health State Minister Dr M A Muhith has said the government is taking coordinated measures to control dengue, with early preparations in place to tackle a possible rise in cases.
He made the remarks after attending a health programme review workshop organised by the Rajshahi Divisional Health Directorate on Saturday.
Muhith said dengue cases and deaths were higher in 2019, 2020 and 2021 than this year. He added that the government had been collecting data and taking preventive measures since four months ago.
He also said around two crore children had received measles vaccines, while the campaign was continuing.
Meanwhile, the Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services said primary and upazila-level health centres were being prepared to manage dengue and measles cases.
