The price of gold has been increased in the local market, with the finest quality 22-carat gold rising by 3,266 BDT per bhori (11.664 grams).
Following the adjustment, the price of one bhori of prime-quality gold, inclusive of value-added tax (VAT), has been fixed at 220,858 BDT, effective from 10:00AM on Monday (November 2).
The Bangladesh Jeweller's Association (BAJUS) announced the price hike, citing an increase in the price of pure (tezaabi) gold in the local market.
The decision was finalized during a meeting of the BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring, led by committee chairman Dr. Dewan Aminul Islam Shaheen.
Despite the upward revision in gold prices, silver prices across all categories remain unchanged.
