A Dhaka court has ordered to freeze Tk 6.5 million from 53 bank accounts linked to Faisal Karim Masud, prime accused in the murder of Inqilab Moncho spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi.
Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md Sabbir Foyez passed the order on Wednesday following a petition by CID Sub-Inspector Abdul Latif.
The petition stated that Faisal and his associates are under investigation for money laundering and terror financing related to Hadi’s killing.

According to investigators, the accounts showed suspicious transactions and initial findings suggest Faisal’s involvement in murder, terrorism and organized crime-offences under the Money Laundering Prevention Act, 2012 (Amended 2015).

Hadi was shot on December 12 near Box Culvert Road in Purana Paltan while returning from an election campaign. He was later taken to Singapore for advanced treatment where he died on December 18.
