
The Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) conducted its undergraduate admission test for the 2025-2026 academic year on Saturday in a fair and peaceful environment at the BUET campus. The participation rate in the exam was 87.44 percent.
The test was divided into Module-A for Engineering Departments and the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, and Module-B for Engineering Departments, Urban and Regional Planning, and the Department of Architecture. The first shift for Module-A ran from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, covering Higher Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry for groups 'A' and 'B'. Module-B took place from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm, testing freehand drawing and visual-spatial reasoning under an open syllabus for the 'B' group. A total of 10,351 students were eligible for the test based on merit, including 7,644 male and 2,707 female candidates, of whom 9,051 participated.
BUET VC Prof Dr Abu Borhan Mohammad Badruzzaman and ProVC Prof Dr Abdul Hasib Chowdhury visited various examination centers. This year, 1,309 seats were available. The merit list, including the names of admitted students and those on the waiting list, is expected to be published on February 7.
