KULAURA, MOULVIBAZAR, Jan 16: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has highlighted measures taken to secure borders, combat smuggling and narcotics, maintain law and order, and conduct rescue operations during disasters.
The briefing was held on Wednesday under the management of the Srimangal Battalion (46 BGB) and organised by the North-East Region, Sarail.
Srimangal Sector Commander Colonel B. M. Touhid Hasan addressed the press.
He said that across 1,204 kilometres of border under Sarail Region, 13 units across four sectors are working tirelessly. Since 1 November 2025, anti-smuggling drives have seized contraband worth over Tk 164 crore and detained 72 suspects. During the same period, narcotics valued at over Tk 5 crore 47 lakh were recovered.
The press conference was attended by senior BGB officials, including Lieutenant Colonel Sarkar Asif Mahmud, Commanding Officer of the Srimangal Battalion (46 BGB).
