NCP leader Sarjis Alam called for boycott of individuals involved in land grabbing, extortion, and the drug trade during a rally organised by the 10-party alliance led-by Jamaat on Friday.

Addressing a large crowd at the Panchagarh Sugar Mill Ground, Sarjis condemned those who publicly oppose drugs but secretly profit from the trade.

“We must boycott these hypocrites who speak against drugs by day but benefit from them by night. Land grabbers, extortionists, and drug dealers have no place in our society,” he stated.

Sarjis, chief organiser (Northern region) of NCP, stressed the importance of the upcoming elections, stating that while the mass uprising in 2024 had made significant progress, the 2026 elections would be decisive for Bangladesh’s future.

“The 2026 elections will determine whether we move forward or regress,” Sarjis said. “Will we fall back into the hands of extortionists and corrupt forces, or will we create a Bangladesh free of such elements?”

Sarjis urged the crowd to support the 10-party unity alliance in the upcoming elections, promising that a victory for the alliance would bring about a new Bangladesh, free from corruption and exploitation.

“With your support, we can create a new future for Bangladesh,” he said.
