2 die of electrocution in Cox’s Bazar

Two workers died after being electrocuted while working at an under-construction building in Chakaria upazila of Cox’s Bazar district on Monday noon.

The deceased were identified as Lal Muhit Uddin Sagor, 33, son of Abu Taher and Mohammad Usman, 19, son of Mohammad Zohar, both residents of Gorjontoli village under Khutakhali union in the upazila.

According to sources, the duo were working on plastering a building under construction.

At that time, they accidentally came in contact with a live electric wire and got electrocuted.

Later, locals rescued them and took them to Malumghat Hospital, where the on-duty doctors declared them dead.

Chakaria Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Md Monir Hossain confirmed the death and said that further legal action will be taken based on the family's complaint.
