Bodies of youths found floating on Cox’s Bazar beach

The bodies of a young man and a young woman were recovered from the beach in Cox's Bazar on Wednesday morning, creating concern among locals.

According to police, the unidentified bodies were found around 9:00 AM along the beach near the Marine Drive road, specifically in the North Lombori and Mitapani canal boat jetty areas under Teknaf Sadar Union.

Local residents first noticed the bodies floating near the shore and informed authorities. Police officers then arrived at the scene and recovered both bodies.

Police said the young woman had no clothing on her body, while the young man was wearing long pants and a jacket. The exact cause of death has not yet been confirmed.

Teknaf Model Police Station officer-in-charge Md. Saiful Islam said that Sub-Inspector Abdus Salam was immediately sent to the scene after receiving the report. The bodies were recovered and taken to the police station.

Police are currently preparing inquest reports and taking legal steps. Efforts are underway to identify the victims and determine the cause and circumstances surrounding the incident.
