The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has banned former national cricketer Manjurul Islam from all cricket-related activities after a sexual harassment complaint filed by former women's team captain Jahanara Alam was found to be substantiated.
The decision was taken at a BCB Board of Directors meeting on Sunday, the board confirmed in an official press release.
The ban prohibits Manjurul Islam from any direct or indirect involvement in employment or cricket-related activities under the jurisdiction of the Bangladesh Cricket Board.
The BCB said the decision was based on the findings of an independent investigation committee formed to examine the complaint lodged by Jahanara Alam.
The board said it is continuing to review the recommendations of the investigation committee and will take any additional measures deemed necessary in accordance with the report.
The case is among the most high-profile instances of sexual harassment allegations in Bangladesh cricket, involving a former international player and the ex-captain of the national women's team.
