A grandmother has been killed and her teenage granddaughter has been raped and murdered after being abducted in Pabna's Ishwardi upazila.

The incident happened any time on Friday night. on Friday night.

Police recovered the two bodies from separate locations in Bhabanipur Uttarpara village under Dashuria Union on Saturday morning.

The deceased were identified as Sufia Khatun, 65, mother of Joynal Kha of the area, and her granddaughter Jamila Akter, 15.

Ishwardi Police Station OC Md Mominuzzaman confirmed the incident.

It was learnt that hearing cries at night, residents came out onto the road. When the sounds stopped, they returned to their homes. On Saturday morning, Sufia's blood-stained body was found lying in the yard of the house.

Later, Jamila's naked body was found in a nearby mustard field after family members searched for her.

Their relative Sohel Rana alleged that a group of miscreants had entered the house with the intention of assaulting the girl. When the grandmother tried to intervene, she was killed. The girl was then allegedly taken to the field where she was violated and murdered.

The victim's family demanded the immediate arrest of those involved.

Additional Superintendent of Police of Ishwardi Circle Pranab Kumar said police have recovered the bodies.

''Legal action will be taken after completion of the probe.''
