Ten officers holding the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP) have been transferred to different parts of the country.
The Ministry of Home Affairs announced the transfers in a notification issued on Wednesday.
According to the notification, SP of Bogura, Md Shahadat Hossain, has been transferred to the Armed Police Battalion (APBn). SP of Khagrachhari, Mirza Sayeem Mahmud, has been posted to Bogura, while Deputy Commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), Md Mostak Sarker, has been appointed as SP of Khagrachhari district.
SP of Mymensingh district, Md Mizanur Rahman, has been transferred to the Police Training Center (PTC) in Noakhali. Meanwhile, DMP Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Kamrul Hasan has been posted as SP of Mymensingh district.
In addition, SP of Sylhet, Kazi Akhtar Ul Alam, has been transferred to the APBn; SP of Jamalpur, Chowdhury Md Jaber Sadeq, to Sylhet district; DMP Deputy Commissioner Farhana Yasmin to Jamalpur district; SP of Barishal, Farzana Islam, to the River Police; and AZM Mostafizur Rahman from Police Headquarters has been appointed as SP of Barishal district.
The notification stated that the order, issued in the public interest, takes immediate effect.
Earlier on Tuesday, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Barishal Range, Md Manjur Morshed Alam, was transferred to the Tourist Police in Dhaka. DIG of Police Headquarters, Md Mostafizur Rahman, was appointed as DIG of Barishal Range, and Commandant of APBn-5, Mohammad Harun-or-Rashid, was transferred to the Bangladesh Police Academy in Sardah, Rajshahi.
