CHATTOGRAM, July 30: A Chattogram court has ordered to send Chittagong's top terrorist Mobarak Hossain Emon alias David Emon and his three associates to jail.
Chattogram Senior Judicial Magistrate-1 Saima Afrin Hima issued the order on Thursday afternoon.
Assistant Public Prosecutor of the Chittagong Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court Raihanul Wazed Chowdhury confirmed the matter.
He said that the order was issued to send David Emon to jail by showing him arrested in 3 cases of Fatikchhari Police Station. Out of these, two are weapons cases and one is a murder case.
He also said that no lawyer was present in the court on behalf of David Emon during the hearing. The police will apply for a 10-day remand for David Emon next Sunday.
The accused are Mobarak Hossain Emon alias David Emon, 25, son of the late Md. Musa of Kanchan Nagar area of Fatikchhari Upazila of Chittagong, Md. Shamim, 28, son of the late Abdul Mannan of Moyshatua area of Monoharganj Upazila of Comilla, Al Islam Alif alias Tamal, 25, son of Md. Zafar of Karimullabag Postgola area of Shyampur Police Station of Dhaka, and Md. Safayet Hossain, 24, son of Md. Belayet Hossain of Saharpar area of Sonaimuri Upazila of Noakhali.
Earlier, four people including David Emon were arrested from Jhumjhumpur area of Kotwali Police Station of Jessore on July 29.
