Human chain demands PSTU VC from its university

PABNA, Mar 29: Students, teachers, and office staff of Pabna University of Science and Technology (PSTU) formed a human chain on Sunday afternoon, demanding appointment of a Vice-Chancellor from within the university itself.
The human chain was held on the university campus under the banner of the university's teachers, students, officers, and employees. 
During the event, several speakers addressed the gathering, including Md. Kamruzzaman, Chairman of the Business Administration Department; Professor Dr. Fazlul Haque, Dean of the Faculty of Life and Earth Sciences; Professor Dr. Muhammad Nazmul Islam, Chairman of the Economics Department; Professor Dr. Mir Khaled Iqbal Chowdhury, Chairman of the History Department; Professor Dr. Mohammad Habibullah, Chairman of the Department of Physical Sciences; and Professor Dr. Khairul Alam, among others.
The speakers pointed out that since the university was established in 2008, Vice-Chancellors have consistently been appointed from outside the institution. They noted that many talented graduates of this university are now teaching both at home and abroad, yet they have not been able to serve as faculty members at their alma mater. As a result, teachers, staff, and students are being deprived of various university facilities. The speakers demanded that a Vice Chancellor be appointed from within the university campus as soon as possible.
