2 brick kiln workers electrocuted in Laxmipur

Two workers died after being electrocuted while on duty at a brick kiln in Laxmipur Sadar upazila on Thursday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Rubel, 30 and Alauddin, 35, both residents of Charbhuta village.

According to locals, the incident took place around 1:30 PM at M/s NBAC Brickfield in Sutargopta area, where the duo reportedly came into contact with a live electric wire and lost consciousness.

Later, locals rescued them and took them to Kamalnagar Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctors declared them dead.

Laxmipur Sadar Model Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Wahed Parvez confirmed the incident and said that necessary legal steps will be taken in connection with the incident.
