Trader, buyer fined over trading illegal fuel oil in Khagrachhari

A owner of a filling station and a customer have been fined for illegally selling fuel oil at Dighinala upazila of Khagrachhari district.

A joint drive of the police and upazila administration conducted the operation in the Palash Filling Station area of the upazila at around 8 PM on Saturday.

First, army members reached the spot and later the joint drive seized about 90 liters of octane during the operation.

The mobile court led by Dighinala Upazila Executive Officer and Executive Magistrate Tanjil Parvez fined buyer Rajan Karmakar Tk 5,000 and the owner of the filling station Parimal Nag Tk 5,000. 

Upazila Executive Officer Md Tanjil Parvez stated, "An attempt is being made to create an artificial crisis in the market by illegally storing and selling fuel oil, which will not be tolerated in any way.''

The campaign against such activities will continue in the future as well, the official added.
