The authorities have dismissed circulating claims of question paper leaks in the ongoing SSC examinations 2026 as false, while announcing the arrest of four individuals accused of spreading the rumors for financial gain.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board said misleading information about exam paper leaks had been widely circulated on social media, creating confusion and panic among students and parents.

The board’s Controller of Examinations, Professor SM Kamal Uddin Haider, confirmed that the reports were entirely baseless.

According to the statement, a fraudulent group had been attempting to exploit the situation by spreading misinformation to disrupt the examination process and damage the government’s image.

The City Intelligence Analysis Division of police identified a Facebook page titled “SSC 2026 Question Leak Group” during routine monitoring on April 20.

Following technical analysis, a Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) team conducted a raid on April 23 in the Zirabo Tangur area under Ashulia police station in Dhaka district.

During the operation, four individuals, including the alleged mastermind, were arrested.

Investigators said the suspects were engaged in spreading false claims of question leaks to deceive students and guardians and extract illegal financial benefits. Authorities emphasized that no actual leak had occurred.

The education board urged the public to remain vigilant against rumors and fraudulent activities online, advising students and guardians to rely only on official sources for accurate information regarding the examinations.
