UPDF member shot dead in Khagrachhari's Panchari

A member of the United People's Democratic Front (UPDF) was shot dead by rival in Khagrachhari’s Panchari upazila on Thursday morning.

The deceased was identified as Imon, a resident of Mohammadpur area.

It was learnt that some miscreants, equipped with arms and rising on a rickshaw, opened fire on Imon when he was standing on the Panchari-Logang road, leaving him dead on the scene.

UPDF's central general secretary Amar Jotey Chakma said, "The deceased Emon Hossain was an associate member of our party.''

He claimed that Prasit Khisa-backed UPDF is responsible for the killing.

But spokeperson of the Prasit Khisa-backed UPDF denied the allegation.

Panchari Police Station OC Ferdous Wahid confirmed the incident.
